I recently had the opportunity to read Shadow Cay a new contemporary thriller by Leona Bodie. It was a very suspenseful book, and it definitely kept me on the edge of my sat, I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen to the characters next!

Here’s a quick summary of Shadow Cay by Leona Bodie:

Madeleine sees small bits of her future. When she’s still young she has a premonition a boat she is on will sink. Her premonition comes true, and she’s saved by a young man named Peter who will later be a part of her destiny.

Just before her 17th birthday she again sees danger before her family anchors in the Southern Bahamas one night in a moonlit cove. She tries to warn her mom and dad, but they brush her off. When they reach the cove Madeleine discovers someone wants to make sure her family never makes it out of paradise alive. The double murder of her parents shatters the only security she’s ever known. Madeleine is forced into a very difficult situation, just to survive. She vows to get revenge on the men who destroyed her family.

Peter and Madeleine’s lives cross again when they’re both fighting for justice against those who have wronged them. ‘Shadow Cay’ is a contemporary thriller about the bravery of those determined to fight injustice.

I had a hard time at the beginning of the book getting all the characters straight, but when I started the book I only had small chunks of time to read. When you start this book I would recommend sitting down and taking the time to get through the first few chapters in one sitting! Once I got the characters straight I loved the way they developed, and the way the storyline built up.

This book is loaded with suspense, and danger around every corner. Once I got past the first few chapters I had a hard time putting the book down! When I got to the last half of the book I had to stay up late just to see what was going to happen!

Overall I loved this book! There were a couple loose ends with the characters at the end I would have loved to see tied up a little more, but I still really enjoyed the ending.
