A Good Nights Sleep In 5 Steps

**Note Brentwood Home sent me 4 pillows for review, and I am an affiliate for their program. I don’t work with many companies, only those I feel strongly about (Who doesn’t want a good nights sleep?). All opinions are my own.

Getting a good nights sleep is really important to me! When I don’t get a good nights sleep it seems like I’m really dragging the next day, I can’t focus, and my brain is fuzzy. I have to be on top of things in my day job, so I need to have a good nights sleep to pay attention to all the little details that hit me through the day, and to be able to make quick decisions in a crisis.

Here are my 5 steps to a good nights sleep!

Step 1: Have a good pillow! Having a good quality pillow can make or break your nights sleep. I can’t sleep at all when I have a deflated wimpy pillow under my head.

I received 4 new pillows from Brentwood Home to review a couple weeks ago. I’m always on the lookout for a great pillow. It seems like most of the pillows on the market today don’t live up to their hype, but the pillows I received from Brentwood Home are fast becoming the favorites in my house! I had the opportunity to check out the Carmel and Helena pillows.

Brentwood Home Pillows Carmel and Helena for a good nights sleep

I usually have one of 2 problems with most pillows. Either they’re so light and fluffy they just collapse after your head is on them for a little while, or they’re so full they’re almost like sleeping on a brick. Both the Carmel and Helena do a great job balancing the light and fluffy with great support! The Helena is filled with a combination of 100% natural latex ribbons and silky-smooth kapok fibers, this pillow is both fluffy and supportive. While the Carmel pillow is made with 100% natural latex, the Carmel pillow is ideal for those in need of a firm, supportive foundation through the night. Both pillows are made to order with comfort and a good nights sleep in mind, which I LOVE.

Step 2: Have a good quality mattress. Did you know you’re supposed to change your mattress about every 8 to 10 years? A lumpy uneven mattress can cause you to not sleep well. Brentwood Home also has some great mattress choices!

Step 3: Keep your room cooler. I always sleep better in a cool room with a nice blanket to snuggle up under.

Step 4: Make sure your sleeping space is quiet. Noise from a television, or traffic can disturb your sleep, and wake you through the night. White noise, like a fan on low can help drown out other noises and help you sleep better.

Step 5: Keep it dark. Try not to have any lights on, and if you live in an area where it is daylight many hours some times of the year make sure you get dark blinds to block out the sunlight.

Bonus step: Relax your mind and let your daytime troubles float away by focusing on relaxing your body, and not harping on your issues. Follow these 5 steps to help you achieve a good night of restful sleep.
