<p>Normally this time of year we have snow on the ground most of the time. We&#8217;ve gotten off really light this year, with hardly any snow! I&#8217;ve actually been watching some of the spring flowers start to pop out of the ground for the last couple weeks. It&#8217;s super exciting for me, since I&#8217;m always ready for spring and warmer weather.</p>
<p>Here are some tulips reaching their tiny leaves up toward the sunlight.</p>
<p><a href="http://homeandgardencafe.com/first-signs-spring-might-be-coming-to-ohio/tulip-sprouts/" rel="attachment wp-att-1937"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1937" title="tulip sprouts" src="http://homeandgardencafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/tulip-sprouts.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="331" /></a></p>
<p>Here are some daffodils sprouting right up there. I should have dug these up and spread them out last fall!</p>
<p><a href="http://homeandgardencafe.com/first-signs-spring-might-be-coming-to-ohio/daffodil-sprouts/" rel="attachment wp-att-1938"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1938" title="daffodil sprouts" src="http://homeandgardencafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/daffodil-sprouts.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="331" /></a></p>
<p>A few of my perennial herbs are starting to sprout, like this French Tarragon.</p>
<p><a href="http://homeandgardencafe.com/first-signs-spring-might-be-coming-to-ohio/french-tarragon-sprouts/" rel="attachment wp-att-1939"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1939" title="french tarragon sprouts" src="http://homeandgardencafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/french-tarragon-sprouts.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="331" /></a></p>
<p>I&#8217;m ready for those fresh herbs and flowers straight from the garden! I think I&#8217;m coming down with a serious case of spring fever!</p>

If I take them soon enough they&#8217;ll stop my cold symptoms in their tracks. If I&#8217;m to late they&#8217;ll at least help shorten the duration of the cold if I take them regularly. I always take any herbal remedy, including Echinacea Golden seal according to the directions on the package.</p>
<p>The duo seems to work very well, I usually take the Echinacea and goldenseal whenever my throat starts to feel a little scratchy, or my nose gets stuffy. They&#8217;re supposed to help support the immune system, to help your body fight off the virus, and I&#8217;m a firm believer they do their job.</p>
<p>Goldenseal works by reducing inflammation, and echinacea helps strengthen immune cells, and fight off viruses and bacterial infections.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.motherearthsgarden.com/herbal-spotlight-what-is-echinacea/">Echinacea also one of my favorite herbs to grow in the garden</a>.  How can those cheery purple blooms not help heal your immune system?</p>
