Easy Old Bay Grilled Shrimp Recipe

This weekend my husband and I enjoyed a low-carb romantic seafood dinner for two! We usually go out for seafood, but in all honesty we didn’t know how easy it was to do our own seafood at home! And while still pricey, it was cheaper than restaurant prices for sure! Plus it was oh so delicious, and fun to work together to create our romantic seafood feast for 2! This easy Old Bay grilled shrimp recipe was a great addition to the main course! This would be perfect for a date night in or for Valentine’s Day!

Easy Old Bay Grilled Shrimp Skewers for 2. Low carb romantic seafood dinner idea. Perfect for Valentine's Day or any time of the year.

My husband was in charge of grilling the shrimp, and we have made this easy Old Bay grilled shrimp recipe in the past, but it’s usually while we’re on vacation… on a beach. I think this is one of the few times we’ve made it at home! I don’t know why we don’t make it more often! It’s delicious, easy, and low-carb! It doesn’t get any better than that!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of shrimp we like the larger size 16-20 per pound, peeled and de-veined
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice or wine vinegar works well too, I like Modeno Vinegar, see resources below the recipe
  • 1/4 cup Avocado or Algae Oil I like these 2 oils for grilling for their higher smoke point, see resources below the recipe
  • 1 Tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning

Instructions

  • Peel and de-vein the shrimp and rinse thoroughly.
  • Marinade the shrimp in a bag or large bowl with the lemon juice or vinegar and the oil and Old Bay Seasoning for 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Skewer the shrimp 5-6 per skewer.
  • Grill for about 3-5 minutes each side, until they turn from opaque to white and get some nice color to them.
  • Serve with your favorite cocktail sauce!

This section has the products I recommend from Amazon, but I also list other places to find them. If you purchase from the links I may make a small commission, but I’ll only recommend products I love and use.

  • Old Bay Seasoning -this is the link to Amazon but You can find this in the spice section of most grocery stores.
  • Modeno Vinegar ~I’ve also found varieties of this at Kroger, Whole Foods and other grocers.
  • Avocado or Algae Oil ~ I’ve also found Avocado Oil at most grocery stores, and Algae Oil at our local Meijer. I like these 2 oils for cooking because they have a higher smoke point and they’re not genetically modified.

These Old Bay Grilled Shrimp take no time at all to prep, and even less time to grill! The most time consuming thing is peeling them, and even that doesn’t take long once you get the hang of it! My husband and I work together to peel them and we have it done in about 5 minutes for a pound. Then just marinate for a few hours and skewer then grill! Easy peasy!
